Mums for Moms

At the Eileen Dailly Pool, there will be a Mother’s Day event going on from 2pm all the way up until 10pm. Between 2:00 and 5:00, come on down to take advantage of a full array of water-based activities. From waterslides and pools to a children’s play area with bubble benches, arches, and a splash zone, the pool is the place to be!

From 5:00pm-10:00pm, there will be a family swim followed by a mums planter-decorating activity. These activities are both free, but you must register with Mums for Moms.

Softball and Cali-Kickball Challenge

Over at the Summit Youth Centre is an activity for moms whose ideal Mother’s Day in Burnaby 2017 is a day of cheering on her kids!

If your mom is the ultimate cheerleader, bring her down at 1:00pm for this free event, complete with a barbecue.

Soccer With Mom

Maybe your mom prefers to get on out there and show off her own competitive spirit instead. If so, bring her down to the Burnaby Lake Sports Complex for an afternoon of competition.

This is another free event, that kicks off at noon and lasts through 2:00pm. It is open to moms and kids between the ages of 6-12.

Tough Mother Obstacle @ Cameron Centre

The Tough Mother is an event for competitive and active families. Located at the Cameron Centre, this obstacle course pits your family against each other in a frantic and challenging race.

The race goes from 11:00am until noon, finishing with a family photo taken in front of the new living sculpture, “Ivy”. You must register for this event, so head down to your local recreation centre or call (604) 294-4452.

Burnaby Fraser Foreshore Park

This park is located along the Fraser River at the foot of Byrne Road. With 14 picnic tables and space for up to 200 people, it can accommodate even the largest of groups.

It also includes two outdoor volleyball courts and trails for the active members of the family. Additionally, it has playgrounds for the little ones and a lovely view of the river.

Barnet Marine Park

A little bit smaller than Fraser Park, but this site also includes 14 picnic tables. It has space for up to 100 people and is perfect for smaller gatherings. Barnet Marine Park has great views and lots of open spaces for families of all ages.

Confederation Park

Another huge picnic spot, Confederation Park includes 33 picnic tables and a ton of amenities.

Enjoying playing with your family at the bocce or tennis courts. Try a lively round of lawn bowling. In addition, there are hiking trails and a playground for the kids! This park also includes electricity, which isn’t included at some of the others.

Central Park

This park includes 40 picnic tables divided up into two sites. One can hold 200 people the other can fit 100 people.

This site features pitch and putt golf, tennis courts, an outdoor pool, trails, and volleyball courts! So whether your family wants to run around, play on the playground, or just relax on the grass, this park is ideal for plenty of things to do in Burnaby for Mothers Day.

Century Garden

For a peaceful and serene Mother’s Day, bring your mom down to the Century Garden right next to the Burnaby Art Gallery.

This brunch will be at the Crystal Ballroom at the Hilton Vancouver Metrotown. This one is a little bit outside Burnaby itself, the drive will be well-worth it once you get a load of the eggs Benedict station, the chocolate fountain, and the full menu of delicious brunch items. EBO Restaurant
